Well, that was not fun . Once the nerve block wore off it was really painful, much worse than last time. I ended up ringing 111 at 3am to ask if I could take extra painkillers as I had used up all I was allowed. They were very helpful but the answer was no so I had to tough it out. Fortunately it is feeling a lot better now and I am being well looked after by my husband. Hope you are all staying dry. Sue

Ouch! Glad you're over the worst but it's a shame that you weren't left with some effective pain control. Something like Oramorphine. Or did they give you that and it was not effective Paul Barrett

They gave me diclofenac and paracetamol. 111 said to swap the paracetamol for co- codamol which did help. When I checked, that was what they gave me last time so I don't understand why they didn't this time. The novelty of sitting with my leg up reading is definitely wearing off and I feel really guilty seeing my husband having to do everything. It is also dull. There really is nothing on daytime TV. However, must be positive. Will be better soon and I know I am very lucky compared to so many of you. Sue

If you are still in pain then the GP could prescribe Codeine separately in 30mg tabs i.e. one Codeine tablet contains double the amount of codeine as two cocodamol and you can actually have as much as 60mg of Codeine in one go. No-one needs to be in pain!! Paul Barrett

Hi Sue, I hope things are improving for you - I think the novelty of sitting about soon wears off, and like you, there`s nothing I watch on daytime TV. Make the most of being looked after, and hope the painkillers work, Kathleen x
